Jammu and Kashmir Cop killed after terrorists open fire in Anantnag


One policeman was killed on Tuesday after terrorists fired at a police vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. The incident took place at Pazalpora area in Bijbehara. The policeman was initially injured, succumbed to his injuries later, said reports,"Militants fired upon SPO Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh inside his residence at Katsoo in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district," the police official said. 

According to a police officer, a group of militants entered the house of Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh at Kastoo in Bijbehara area of Anantnag in the evening and opened fire at him and his wife Fareeda.

In a separate incident in the state's Kulgam district, militants opened fire upon a civilian man who works as a teacher at Chancer in Kulgam district, police said. Sayar Wani was hit by a bullet in the leg, he said, adding the injured was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
