Karnataka Election Report : 24% polling recorded till 11 am Urban records lowest at 17%

Till 11 AM, 24 per cent voter turnout has been recorded in Karnataka. The polling in the southern state began at 7 AM today and will continue till 6 PM. The BJP, Congress and JD(S) are in the fray. More than 4.98 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to choose their representatives. Over 2,600 candidates are contesting in the polls.
It’s a three-cornered contest between the Congress, the BJP and the JD(S). While the ruling Congress and the BJP are the main contenders, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda's JD(S) is expected to play kingmaker.
Congress leader, Ramalinga Reddy, says, "Hoping that voter turnout will increase today. Senior citizens, youngsters, women, everybody will come and vote."
Election Commission ambassador and former cricketer Rahul Dravid, who cast his vote in Bengaluru, urges the people of Karnataka to exercise their franchise.
